Can you use fresh mango? If so how much?
Rebekah says
Hi Victoria! We haven’t tried this recipe with fresh mango, so you’ll have to experiment. The fresh mango will make it more moist, so we’d recommend cutting it down the amount of mango by half and see how that goes. Let us know how it goes!

Can the Amish friendship bread be made in a bead machine?
Darien Gee says
The regular version can be made in a bread machine, but for recipes with heavier add-in ingredients, it may sink to the bottom of the pan. The bread machine recipe is here: https://www.friendshipbreadkitchen.com/bread-machine-afb/

Pamela Hopkins says
does the book give you the friendship bread starter reciepe??.. am looking for the book to pass around my ladies sunday school group and my family… thank you for the information … God Bless
Darien says
Hi Pamela!
It sure does! The novel includes the recipe for the starter, instructions for the bread, and about 10 other Amish Friendship Bread variations/recipes.
One reader shared this idea with us: they read the novel, then signed and dated it in the front, along with a note about what they enjoyed most about the book. Then they passed it onto their friends, who are doing the same, and they plan to continue doing that until all the front and back pages are filled up. That might be a fun idea to share with the women in your life. Would love to see a picture if the novel ever makes its way back to you!
Thank you for being a friend of the Kitchen, Pamela!
best,
Darien
