So tell me … what’s a pantry item or staple you can’t live without?
Patty Padgett says
Can you use buttermilk?
Darien Gee says
You can use buttermilk in your starter in lieu of regular milk!
Mary Ann Benedetto says
Can I use skim milk (2%)?
Darien Gee says
Yes! You can also use nut milks as a substitute as well.
Sharon L says
Vanilla! The good stuff.
Elaine Vnuk says
I really appreciate being able to refer to this list as a reminder of what I might need to add to my pantry.
Anne Williams says
I saw gluten free recipes but I have not been able to find the starter. My son-in law is celiac and I would like to give the recipe for the starter to my daughter (or make it for her)
Darien Gee says
Hi Anne! A gluten-free starter would use a gluten-free flour base, like Bob’s Red Mill. It isn’t always as robust, but it can do the job and let you share the starter with your son and daughter-in-law. 🙂
Linda Nietz says
A pantry staple I can’t live without? Coconut oil. Yes, has to be coconut oil.
